An Introduction to Chi and Massage
Chi, Yin,Yang, and the Five Elements are the basic of Chi Massage metaphysical theories. Chi, is also known as Qi, Ki, Bio-Energy or Life Force Energy. It is the reason for everything to exist. Chi presence in living things determines wholesomeness, whilst Chi presence in materials determines the state of dynamics. Chi can therefore be harnessed from the environment and the universe.
The practice of Chi Massage requires the masseur/masseuse to have sufficient chi to carry out the healing process. Meditation is one way of harnessing Chi. In practice, balancing the Yin and Yang in the body is Chi Massage’s ultimate objective. That is, manifest the external and internal of our body into better agreement with each other, making the Yin organs live in harmony with the Yang organs. When Yin and Yang organs are in harmony, the Chi will flow without obstructions and the whole body will be in the ‘pink of health’.
